Marvin started out in business as a Designer/Builder for over 15 years in custom luxury homes and commercial building and remodeling.
He worked as a construction manager for a Real Estate holding company involved in tenant improvements and building enhancements for 5 years. Reviewed plans for a good fit for the corporation and designed and managed multiple projects for improvements. He also managed the physical due diligence for the acquisition of future properties for the company in the United States.
Marvin worked as a financial services advisor for 2 years gaining a tremendous understanding of prudent investments and the importance of structuring a business.
For the last 7 years Marvin has been involved in the real estate industry and 6 years as an agent working with commercial and residential clients. He received a certificate from The National Commercial Real Estate Association as an NCREA Advisor and member. Also SRES (Senior Real Estate Services) and PMC (Property Management Certificate) designations.
This and other extensive training/mentoring from the top producing agents in the industry, has allowed him to gain an intimate knowledge of how to get an offer accepted and work through the deal smoothly. Ian MacLachlan received his B.S. in Physics from San Jose University. He founded Grand Prix, a manufacturer and mail-order business for specialty motorcycle parts as well as a chain of Kawasaki dealerships. In 1977 GPC was the largest chain of Kawasaki dealerships in the U.S. After selling GPC through a business broker, he became involved in the business brokerage industry founding Business Team -the largest business brokerage firm in the Western United States. Business Team has arranged the sale of over 7000 companies to date.
Ian is a co-founder and past chairman of the California Association of Business Brokers, has previously served on the Board of Directors of the International Business Brokers Association (IBBA), and is a frequent speaker at IBBA conventions. He is also a member of M&A Source.
He has been qualified as an expert witness in business valuation and standard of care by the California Superior Court.
